Our standards

How we work, and what you can hold us to.

Tuani Media publishes the record of who lends in Central America and who owns them. These are the rules every page follows.

Method

Every figure comes from a bank supervisor's own file, or from a filing a company made to a regulator or an exchange. We download the file, record its SHA-256 fingerprint, and read it with one program per supervisor. The fingerprint is printed beside the source, so anyone can confirm they hold the same document.

The build stops, and nothing is published, if the banks do not add up to the supervisor's own total, if a system total moves more than 15% in a month (that is how unit errors show up), or if a bank's name does not match our map. Owner groups are the one layer we type in, and each membership cites the document that states it. Where a currency floats, twelve-month changes are measured at constant exchange rates.

Reuse and citation

The Register is free to read, cite and quote. Cite it as: Tuani Media, The Register, [country], data to [month], tuanimedia.com/register. Each country's table, 89 banks in all, is published as a CSV file at a fixed address on its page.

The underlying figures are the supervisors' public records and remain subject to each supervisor's terms. Bulk redistribution or commercial use of the compiled database is by written arrangement: editors@tuanimedia.com.

Corrections

We correct errors in public. A correction states what was wrong, what is right, when it changed and which document settles it, and it stays on the page it corrects. Send one to editors@tuanimedia.com with the document. Corrections to the Register to date: none.

Right of reply

Every group we name in a brief or a Reading has forty-eight hours to reply before publication, and replies are printed in full. Supervisor figures in the Register are printed as filed; a bank that believes its regulator's file is wrong should tell us and its regulator.

Independence

Tuani is paid by its readers. It takes no advertising and no payment from any bank it covers. Neither Tuani nor its owners hold an interest in any bank we name; any future interest will be disclosed in the piece. Tuani's research never recommends a service its owners sell. Nothing we publish is investment, legal or tax advice.

Privacy

When you ask for the brief or the Watch, we keep what you give us: name, email, role, where you are based, the banks you watch, and your consent, recorded as a dated entry. It is kept in the United States with the services that run the site (Vercel for hosting, Neon for the database, Resend for email, Stripe for payments). We never sell it. To delete your details, reply to any email or write to editors@tuanimedia.com.

The site runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. The Check runs in your browser and sends nothing unless you ask us to watch your banks. An unsent form is kept only in your own browser.
